So I’ve started a big review of my cookbooks and am getting excited for some of the ideas that are coming to mind – clam chowder, souffle, Thomas Keller’s fried chicken… Very excited. If anyone is actually reading this and has any thoughts, please weigh in or make suggestions.
Also, while most of the Lagasse hubbub this week was regarding the White House Iron Chef episode (which hopefully convinced some of the record-breaking audience on the importance of local & organic), the new episode of Emeril Green on Planet Green was also great. Instead of the usual Virginia Whole Foods kitchen set, he was in Hardwick, VT touring local farms and food producers. It was great to see the focus on companies like Jasper Hill, Vermont Soy, and others. Vermont has so many people doing great things with food – I need to spend more time there. Anyway, the episode will be airing a few more times this weekend – it’s worth a look if you’re interested.
